NOT ON THE ROAD THIS WEEK AND GLAD FOR IT
In my last writing’s I discussed the need to pass the knowledge along and to help maintain the art form. The other practical side to all that is to help senior student and even professional dancers find the right place for their talents. Sometimes it a question of timing, a bit like match making.
Got a wonderful note and a very nice bottle of champagne delivered to me at home today. It was from a former student, now a seasoned professional dancer with the Pennsylvania Ballet. I set him up with a special audition for the Bway Show “Billy Elliot”. The Show requires a grown up “Billy” for the last part of the show. And that Billy must be an accomplished ballet dancer. Long story short he will be starting with “Billy Elliot” in the fall.
Two year, Equity contract, his new adventure begins.
Thought I would share his note with you. And I quote…
“Chris, What an amazing door you helped me stumble upon. I am so thrilled for this opportunity and I have you to thank. So Thank You for always thinking of me and I am going to kick some #@% out there.
Thanks Max B”
It will be his turn to play it forward one day.
