Award winning choreographer Christopher Fleming brings his unique and innovative work with his company BalletFleming (Philadelphia’s newest contemporary ballet company) to the Painted Bride Arts Center September 14 and 15 at 7:00pm.

For these performances, entitled Feelin’ Alright, Mr. Fleming will present Two World Premieres as well as his critically acclaimed Janis & Joe Suite (Music by Janis Joplin and Joe Cocker) to Philadelphia.

World Premiere #1- Long Train Running

In collaboration with Philadelphia’s own critically acclaimed musical trio Time for Three, Fleming has brought together a work of spirited athleticism and bluegrass funk, including Time for Three classics Orange Blossom Special and Philly Phunk.

World Premiere #1- Four Studies for Orchestra

Fleming returns to his roots as a former member of the New York City Ballet and creates a new and dynamic pas de deux to this Stravinsky classic, weaving an exciting new piece through the complex rhythms and elite syncopation of Stravinsky’s score.

Mr. Fleming is an exciting and visionary choreographer whose ballets are performed by companies in North and South America, Europe and Japan.  He holds Choreographic awards from organizations in the US, Canada, Italy and the Czech Republic. In addition, Mr. Fleming has choreographed for Television, Film, Opera and Musical Theatre.

BalletFleming was launched in the fall of 2010 with Fleming’s The Myth and the Madness of Edgar Allan Poe performed in Baltimore. This was followed in early 2011 with Gaspar- A Pirate Fantasy in Tampa, The Who’s TOMMY at Adelphi University in New York, and a Philadelphia premiere/preview in the spring called Tapas.

The Feelin’ Alright  program is made possible in part from contributions by the world-renowned artist, Leroy Neiman and his wife Janet.
